Tobiano Lightning Dancer is an ancient member of the re’shahna tribe that still dwells within the ruins of Bresan T’ahnya. Distant cousins of the rahee, their race fell into legend until Shadow’s recent acts of vengeance brought them out of hiding.

As Nevaharday falls under threat, Patchi sends a message to Tobiano informing him of Shadow’s foreboding movements and of Nevaharday’s prince, who shows great promise as the key to defeating their common enemy. With the help of Skalabur, Jaycent is led to Tobiano, who then takes him and his companion, Levee, to Bresan T’ahnya.

There, he takes Jaycent under his wing, helping him understand and hone his innate magic. Although he could not help him save Nevaharday from its fate, Tobiano stands beside his pupil and friend, encouraging him to become the hero he is certain the rogue prince is capable of being.
